In the United States there are many people who are getting quite frustrated of the many arguments against online casino games and gambling especially in the city of Washington, District of Columbia. Online gambling in the USA has been a tough road for players who love to place bets on slot machines games or table games like poker and these players have been expecting to have at least one jurisdiction in the country where they are able to legally place bets for free or real money legally and therefore set a clear standard and example for the next move to legalize these online gambling practices federally.
As it’s widely know, Washington D.C. has a great deal of issues when it comes to the financial situation of the state which is why the correct implementation of online gambling and online casino games would be an enormous help. The taxes that are generated through online gambling could help those in need and maintain a strong source of income for the time being. A recent ruling, which was mentioned in a budget bill at the end of 2010, is actually in favor of online gaming in the state which effectively made Washington DC, the first State in the country to legalize online gambling.
However, two local DC politicians now want the law repealed since the bill has generated complaints from every part of the spectrum and admittedly when the bill was passed there had not been sufficient public debate.
The act, known as the iGaming measure, was initiated by Democrat Michael Brown who has taken a huge amount of heat for his involvement in this ruling. Brown’s credibility has been constantly in doubt since the ruling and he has been required to defend his position. In a recent written letter to his peers, he maintains that the legislation was introduced in a normal way, and that as it is envisaged, would pose no threat to anyone, especially underprivileged residents.
