In the United States there are many people who are getting quite frustrated of the many arguments against online casino games and gambling especially in the city of Washington, District of Columbia. A recent ruling, which was mentioned in a budget bill at the end of 2010, is actually in favor of online gaming in the state which effectively made Washington DC, the first State in the country to legalize online gambling.
However, two local DC politicians now want the law repealed since the bill has generated complaints from every part of the spectrum and admittedly when the bill was passed there had not been sufficient public debate.
The act, known as the iGaming measure, was initiated by Democrat Michael Brown who has taken a huge amount of heat for his involvement in this ruling. Brown’s credibility has been constantly in doubt since the ruling and he has been required to defend his position. In a recent written letter to his peers, he maintains that the legislation was introduced in a normal way, and that as it is envisaged, would pose no threat to anyone, especially underprivileged residents.
